Immune Booster Tonic

Dosage: ¼ cup once a day

This tonic is taken daily during the cold and flu season to build up the immune system. The recipe was given to us by a woman who runs an elderly care home in Washington. In the years prior to the tonic, one resident would get sick and, one-by-one, each resident would also get the flu, causing much pain and distress throughout the home. Since using the Immune Booster Tonic, none of them has come down with the flu.

Freshly squeezed juice from 8 to 10 lemons (about 2 cups)
9 – 12 cloves peeled garlic (1 bulb)
½ to ¾ cup of honey
½ of onion, peeled and cut in chunks
½ to 1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 thumb-sized piece fresh peeled ginger or 1 tsp dried
2 quarts water

  1. Put all ingredients, except water, in blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into bottle or pitcher and add water. Close lid and keep refrigerated.
  3. Use 2 ounces (1/4 cup) daily to boost immune system. Shake before each use.
